Suspension Travel of Shock Seating
Comparisons between Nauti-Craft Prototype and a standard catamaran.
The Waves are actually doing most
of the work to power the
suspension system.
The passive suspension mode eliminates the high levels of shock and vibration currently experienced by personnel and equipment travelling on high-speed craft. The suspension system operates like a land vehicle, equipped with suspension that has a far greater range of travel. Our patented hydraulic spring and damper configuration absorbs over 80% of the impacts felt at high speeds in rough seas.
Our technology goes well beyond the benefits of shock mitigation seating being used by the military today. This advanced system stabilizes the entire deck providing a safe, secure work area. This results in far greater efficiency allowing work to be safely conducted during transit in a manner never before possible.
The technology also provides more than 3 times as much suspension travel as a shock mitigation seat, which makes it much more effective at reducing large impacts than shock seating. The passive mode also protects deck mounted equipment and instrumentation from damaging impacts.
Testing has demonstrated that the 2Play prototype, using 2' of suspension travel, reduces deck shock loads by up to 85% in sea conditions ranging from 1' short chop to 6.5' short swell.
